I have had the same experience and so what I started to do was just before hitting "submit", I highlight it and cut and paste to a word doc or an email and save it for 24 hrs just so I don't have the aggravation of having to recreate it. Futures trading has enough aggravation in and of itself.
Keep up the great work and thanks for the words about your friend who "makes a killing" spreading the 30 vs 10 yr Treasuries. I need to look at that as Bonds are my favorite market.
Don in VirginaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27784316.post-55574707730498811082011-08-19T19:27:38.567-07:002011-08-19T19:27:38.567-07:00I always short on weakness and Sugar never broke d...I always short on weakness and Sugar never broke down so I never got short.

As for the comment on the indexes, yes that is what you should do.

I do not spread trade, I prefer the full monty, but there are some very good traders who approach things in that manner. If you can figure out a good way to do it have at it. I have a friend who spreads 30 yr against 10 years and makes a killing so it is a valid way to trade.Chris Johnstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01542415946929766288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27784316.post-75222280577640287622011-08-19T15:08:37.254-07:002011-08-19T15:08:37.254-07:00Did you ever short sugar? What do you t...Did you ever short sugar? Hope not!

What do you think of the strategy of deciding to short an index, but actually shorting the weakest sector of the index instead?

Also, do you have an opinion on spreads - eg shorting gold against platinum when it reaches parity? Or shorting the franc against gold?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
